Mike aka "Clutch"
Mike has been playing drums since a young lad starting his musical career in a "polka" band. Back then he played & filled in with some of the best that were traveling through the area at the Oriental Ballroom, such as Happy Louie, Walter Solek & more. His education through High School and College gave him an opportunity to read music professionally as well as by ear learning different percussion styles, techniques & rudiments etc. Eventually his love of music brought him to many genres and also leading him to have his own bands as well as filling in with others. His dynamic playing adjusts according to the occasion. He's collected and used many different drum sets; and currently using a Pearl Drum Set with "Pastie" cymbals.
Mike always keeps the Band on their toes as he goes into song after song. He enjoys singing but rather likes to concentrate on the total performance with his percussion abilities, as well as keeping the music going from person to person in the band creating varied genres of entertainment.
Bobby aka "Daddio"
He's the "Country Boy" in the Band and Bass Player. His background includes playing bass guitar & rhythm guitar & vocals. He’s been playing and singing in bands for 56+ years. He’s played with some of the best country players from here to Nashville. His professional background includes opening for major Nashville acts including Tracey Lawrence & Confederate Railroad, as well as playing with local bands in the area.He was also a member in the Nashville Music Consultance having songs there that he’s written.
His bass Guitar is a Fender 5 string jazz which he refers to as"My Baby".
Bobby gets the crowd's attention not only with his voice but his "Red, White and Blue" American Flag Signature Guitar.
Bobby brings his own style of playing to Freedom Rocks and enriches the musical experience in the Band. His genre includes newer country, classic country, classic rock/southern rock and blues. His singing & harmonies will add to the three vocals of Mike, Vic & Jo.
Vic aka "Ace"
He is the "Rocker" in the Band. He has played music most of his life beginning at an early age in school & bands and continued his education in College, learning to read music professionally as well as by ear. He changes his style according to the music he's playing, while enjoying his favorite Epiphone & Gibson guitars & some of the coolest versions of "V's" out there.
He has traveled the state & other counties, fairs, & venues with several bands and show bands over the years, with a number of those bands being very popular in the Johnstown area.
His collection of guitars along with his diversity of pedals, electronics, and knowledge enables him to generate a sound for a variety of music including all genres creating a full musical experience for any occasion... as well as using a Marshall Amp for sound.
Vic brings his own style of Rocker music & vocals to the band, as well as implementing "OLDIES" vocals for our "50s/60s" shows.
Jo Ann "Jo" aka "Babs"
Jo has come from a musically inclined family background & used to do some fill in keyboards over the years but now just sings as well as implements tambourine & percussion instruments in the band. Sometimes she'll throw in a "Stevie Nicks" hat, Oldie Sunglasses, or "ZZ TOP" Sunglasses & Black Hat to add to her songs.
With her history of dance instruction as well as choreography, she is definitely a front person who gets the crowd to their feet, involves audience participation, entertains and engages people of all ages according to the many genres of music in her performance. Her bubbly personality, friendliness & charm resonates her high energy she has for the love of music, the people she meets, and the crowds she performs for.
Some of her accomplishments throughout the years include writing jingles and performing them for commercials, Performing/Singing Cher Shows @ Holiday Inns, choreographing local events; and her fame to claim is the title of "Miss Congeniality" in the Miss PA/USA Pageant.
Jo adds the final sparkle to the Band as you can see in her participation and performance; also, she's probably the ONLY girl singer who can Twirl and Spin a tambourine to add to her lively entertainment.
